Fontaine Hall awarded Georgia Trust 2013 Excellence in Rehabilitation Award
PHA is proud to announce our third Georgia Trust award for Fontaine Hall, which was accepted last weekend at the Trust's Spring Ramble in Milledgeville (Allen Hoss and our client Christopher Woodruff are shown after the ceremony). The project was a successful blend of historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and sustainable design. Congratulations to our team of consultants, contractors, and our client.
Historic building to get face lift
The Pioneer Neon Lofts, which is on the National Register of Historic Places, is suffering from rusty lintels on the brick facade, which is causing structural instability. PHA is working with Stability Engineering to make recommendations to repair the faulty components.
Ben Hill Rec Center expansion under construction
The long-awaited expansion to the Rec Center in Atlanta's Ben Hill / Brentwood community is finally underway after our wet winter. Footings are in, and here a crew member from Lichty Commercial Construction installs concrete block walls. The City of Atlanta Office of Park Design sponsored a community charrette at the end of April to carve bricks for a new mural, which will complement the existing murals completed at the time of the original building construction. Stay tuned for more photos as construction continues.
Get your run on!
Local retailer Big Peach Running Co. recently opened two more stores. The Midtown location is at 800 Peachtree Street, convenient for runs to Piedmont Park. The store at Town Brookhaven Shopping Center is the largest store to-date. For both stores, PHA worked to enhance the brand by redesigning the footwear displays, specifying new energy-efficient LED lighting, and coordinating the installation of a custom shoe-testing track made of recycled tennis shoes! Stop by and visit them to see their extended lines of footwear, apparel, and accessories. Photo shown here is Town Brookhaven location.
